This is a Y2K inspired Metalheart assets pack for Filmora as part of the trendbook series. At the time, Y2K aesthetics were one of the most searched styles on Google and especially popular with Gen Z , the audience we wanted to reach. This pack gave users fun, ontrend assets to use in their edits and was tied to a community challenge where participants could win $500.
Y2K Metal Heart was a new area for me to explore, and I was excited about the opportunity. After doing research, I developed this moodboard, which I believe aligns well with the theme and provides users with a visually engaging background option.
For the treatment, I decided to use a Displacer Deformer on simple shapes in Cinema 4D, applying noise to generate the unique forms you see on screen. I used this same method across all the shapes, swapping out different base models and experimenting with noise values to achieve varied results. The compositing stage was especially fun playing with color grading to create distinct vibes and finished it off with text elements to enhance the “Y2K” aesthetic.
